Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve
The Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve is California's premier wildflower viewing destination, drawing visitors from across the state during peak bloom season each spring. The reserve protects more than 1,700 acres of rolling hills that turn vivid orange from mid-March through mid-April in a strong bloom year, and it offers eight miles of hiking trails across the Antelope Valley landscape. The visitor center features exhibits on local plant life and the ecology of the western Mojave Desert.
Parking during peak season fills fast and overflows onto Lancaster Road, making a charter bus drop-off the most practical approach for groups of ten or more. Confirm current trail and access conditions before your visit.
